THE FABRIC OF THE COMMUNITY

A textiles exhibit that includes numerous textile objects from our collections that each demonstrates a unique aspect of civic, community, and social life during the late 19th and early 20th century in the Hall County, NE region. The exhibit will display several different quilts, blankets, flags, pennants, and clothing from this region of Nebraska during that time.

LINCOLN MODERN QUILT GUILD

Sew Creative in Lincoln, 5143 S. 48th St. 68516

We are a small group of fiber artists, some beginners, that met through the Lincoln Modern Quilt Guild.  We spent the first year learning new techniques and using different mediums.  
The show consists of challenges form this year, using color, and the techniques we learned last year.  Each artist is displaying 6 pieces using embellishment, text, applique, thread play, dimension, weaving.

The Arts and Humanities Focus Program is designed for high school students who possess a curiosity for learning and are committed to the arts and humanities. The exhibition will showcase works students made this semester while learning about contemporary fiber artists.
