ABOUT
FiberFest is an exciting opportunity to connect the Lincoln community to the work of contemporary fiber and textile artists and to learn more about the amazingly versatile mediums these artists employ.
There is something exceptional about working with these tactile mediums; the results can bring us back to humble beginnings as well as transport us to something new and unfamiliar. FiberFest seeks to highlight the diverse range of skills these mediums require and give viewers some context for deeper understanding. The featured exhibitions bring local, national, and international artists to Lincoln.
Participating artists will engage with the community in the form of workshops, lectures, and demonstrations, some of which are free of charge. We are asking the community to get involved by donating dried flowers for workshops on how to dye fibers with natural materials. This celebration of fiber arts is a communal endeavor in which we hope the Lincoln community will fully participate.
If you or your organization would like to participate in FiberFest fun please contact Katelyn at katelyn@luxcenter.org.
